The wiring regulations require the grouping of cables to be considered in determining It.

But:
1. what is the minimum length of adjacent cables that should be considered for grouping derating. What about simply passing through a joist (approx 50mm), or simply coming out of the CU?

2. how close do they need to be? Closer than 1 cable diameter?

If clipped with sufficient spacing to a wooden board and then 'boxed-in', is this considered 'clipped direct', or 'enclosed' (and thus attracting a lower current carry capacity) ?
