Does anyone have storm windows anymore? We built our house 4 yrs ago and when they put the windows in, they don't have storm windows. I was very confused with this. I think that just for the efficiency in the winter that we should have storm windows. Am I missing something here?

I'm sure the glazing is triple or at least double. The old windows were just single glazing so storm windows were needed. ALSO the newer windows are more efficient because there are not weights in the casings anymore, so the area around the window can now be effectively insulated.

If your windows are leaking air, then you might want to check to make sure that they are set properly, because they should be pretty air tight.

Yes, storm windows are very useful during winter. storm windows reduce air infiltration and heat loss. For the most part, interior storm windows offer greater convenience than exterior storm windows.

They are easier to remove, and, because they are not exposed to the elements, do not have to be as durable as exterior storm windows.
