Today I have just completed a four week tiling course and would like to say a big thanks to Max and Terry, the instructors, for making it a really informative, enjoyable experience.
I can honestly say that Max and Terry have a fantastic tutoring style and are always willing to pass on the expert knowledge that they have gained with over 20 years each in the tiling industry - what they don't know about tiling ain't worth knowing!
I highly recommend the Ableskills centre in Dartford for the tiling course, and from what I gather from meeting numerous other people during my four weeks, all the other trades that they teach there. It is a very professionally run and well equipped outfit but there is a really relaxed atmosphere around the whole place. This really helped calm my nerves on the first day as going in to learn a trade after 25 years desk-bound was quite daunting, but after the first few hours of tiling I felt like one of the gang!
I have now gained my City & Guilds accreditation and will, hopefully, be able to progress on to NVQ level 2. It puts my mind at rest to know that going forward I can contact Max or Terry for advice on any areas that I have problems with.
