My house is wired with aluminum wiring. I have heard that this is not a good thing.

What should I do to assure that the possibility of overheating or even a fire does not happen. Is there any thing that I can do about this.

my suggestions would be to maybe get a qualified electrician to look at it and to see what he might suggest.

In the first place, the aluminum wiring is not there if it was not designed to be there. By the way, who says it's not a good thing?

In our first home, we had aluminum wiring. After a bit of a problem with blown fuses, we replaced all the receptacles to a kind that was reportedly better for use with the aluminum wiring.

Sorry, this was about 15 years ago and I forget the specifics.

Maybe this rings a bell with someone here who's more familiar with electrical work?
