Hello boys,

Just a quick question if you don't mind.

I've got a job plastering the inside of a porch and the guy doesn't want dot and dabbed boards. So i'm in 2 minds on how to go about the first coat over the blockwork.
Do I use render as you guys showed me on the City and Guilds or hardwall which i've not used before.

I've only been skimming since I passed and could do with knowing the do's and dont's with using hardwall.

Thanks

Aaron (the left handed Gooner)

Brian says not to use hardwall, use sand and cement gauged at 4-1 with plastersizer, thickness 9-11mm, render the inside of the porch, rule off, devil float, clean angles, leave for at least 2 days then go back and skim.

Cheers Brian your a legend,

I might be back in May to do the polished plastering course so watch out. We should have won the Champions League by then but I won't go on too much about it. Hope all is well, say hello to Spence for me.

Just to add something i learnt the hardway when i did my first rendering job, soak the walls as much as possible with water to kill the suction, otherwise it comes off like sand

Cheers

Cheers Andy,

One thing I forgot to ask is, after leaving the render for a couple of days do I still use pva before skimming?

Немогу установить final render sp2, у меня есть sp1 и самая первая версия, немогу нормально установить, то его в списке рендеров нету, то макс ругается на плагины. Как его надо установить? У меня 3ds max 9.
