I have to change some of the piping under the kitchen sink. There is also a food grinder there.

Should I use plastic piping or metal?

thanks

I like metal- only because I think it handles the hot water better- and I think it's more durable. Although I know they are selling a lot of plastic pipes too. I don't have them- so I'm not sure how good they are.

I prefer metal because it will act as support to the weight of the sink itself. Other than yes, its more durable compared to plastic pipings.

We have plastic piping and it works well in my opinion. It is also flexible, which helps with the fitting of it.

I thought the sink was supported by the counter, or by brackets attached to the counter.

I would go with plastic pipes, or what ever the no metallic pipes are, because I am sensitive to many metals and dont' like taking chances, if I can avoid it.

Oh plastic please! I dread the thought of rust or anything else leaching from those metal pipes.

We have a fairly new house and when it was built, they put plastic piping in. We have never had any problem with it.

You can use a plastic piping and I use the same thing in my kitchen. Metal pipes would soon get into problems such as rusting etc. and don't use them unless the pipes are vulnerable to breaking.

Plastic are better as metal will over time decay and can poison you, I thought everywhere had plastic ones these days.

For the area mentioned I have noticed that plastic has the preference of DIY. It's a material that is easy to handle. It is free from corrosion, so it lasts.
