The timber used in my stair causes annoying squeaks and creaks if someone walks on them. What should I do to stop these annoying noises.

Detect where the squeaks and creaks are and maybe add additional screws but be very careful to check before you put the screws in so as not to go through any cables or pipes under the floorboards.
